MY COMMISSION PROCESS
[CREATIVE STEPS]
We'll go over your wishes together by email beforehand, making sure we're fully aligned on the idea before moving forward. You can also choose to give me complete creative freedom to reinterpret the card in my signature style.
I'll create a digital sketch on my iPad to explore the concept and overall composition. This is your moment to share feedback, and one round of small adjustments is included in the commission price. If you'd like more extensive changes or an additional sketch revision, we can always discuss this together. I do charge a small fee of €15 for extra revisions, as each one takes a good amount of time to work out properly. Please keep in mind that the sketch is an estimate of the final design, and since the artwork is hand-painted, the finished result may differ slightly in details and feel.
Once we've agreed on the sketch, I'll begin the painting process. From that point on, it's no longer possible to request changes.
[PRICING]
The rate for my commissions is €130 / $150 per card.
[PAYMENT]
I ask for a 50% deposit upfront to get started, for which I'll send you an invoice and payment request. Once the artwork is finished, I'll send a second invoice for the remaining balance. This includes the remaining 50% plus any additional costs such as the card (if I sourced it for you) and shipping.
Payment is handled based on your location:
Netherlands: via Wero/iDeal
International: via PayPal
[TURNAROUND TIME]
From the moment the deposit is received, the usual turnaround time is approximately 3-6 weeks.
[CARD SUPPLY]
You're welcome to send your own card to me by mail, or I can source it for you on Cardmarket and add the cost to your final invoice.
[SHIPPING & DELIVERY]
Your alter will be sleeved, put in a toploader and shipped in sturdy, protective packaging. I pack every order with a lot of care to make sure it arrives safe and sound, wherever you are in the world. Your order will include tracking so you can follow it every step of the way. Shipping costs are at the buyer's expense and will be added to your total.
[MATERIALS]
The artwork is applied directly onto an authentic Magic: The Gathering card using professional Golden acrylic paints, finished with a protective Royal Talens Amsterdam acrylic varnish. This final layer protects the artwork from wear and helps the painted areas blend seamlessly with the original card, creating a smooth and uniform matte finish. Since every card is painted entirely by hand, slight texture and brush details may be visible. I think of these as part of the charm. They're what makes each alter truly one of a kind. I sign all my alters on the bottom of the card.
[SOCIAL MEDIA]
I love sharing my work and the process behind it on my social media. Unless we've specifically agreed otherwise, I will post your finished alter there. If you'd rather keep your commission private, just let me know!
