PRICING

My rate is €265 / $295* per card (including worldwide tracked shipping). If I source the card for you, its cost is added to your final invoice.

*If you're based in the United States or Puerto Rico, a +10% import tariff applies (+$29.50).

CREATIVE STEPS

1. Send me your request
I’ll read through it with a cup of coffee and review whether it’s the right fit for my style and my schedule. Then I’ll come back to you with a yes (hopefully!), an estimated start date and next steps.
 
2. Let's dream it up together
When your start date arrives, we’ll go back and forth by email until we’re both excited about the idea. If you'd rather give me full creative freedom, that's okay too! There's something really special about that, and it's a question I get all the time. However we get there, your alter will be made just once, just for you. I never repeat a piece I've already painted.

3. From digital design proof to finished alter
I'll draw up a digital design proof on my iPad so you can see the idea take shape. This is your moment to tell me what you think. Your first round of small tweaks is included in the price (think adjustments to the design, like colors or details, rather than a whole new concept). Any further rounds are a small €18 / $20 fee each. Keep in mind that the final piece may feel a touch different from the sketch, since it's painted by hand rather than drawn on a screen. Once we're both happy with the design, I'll pick up my brushes and get started! From that point on it's locked in, so this is your last chance for any changes.

PAYMENT

Once I’ve confirmed your request, I’ll send you an invoice for a 50% deposit. Your spot in my schedule is reserved as soon as it’s paid. If I haven’t received it within 7 days, the spot goes to someone else. Once your alter is finished, I’ll send a second invoice for the remaining balance (plus the card price if I sourced a card for you).

TURNAROUND TIME

I’ll give you an estimated start date when I confirm your request. From that date, your alter is usually ready within 3 to 5 weeks. If anything changes, I’ll let you know right away!

CARD SUPPLY

You can send your own card to me by mail to the Netherlands, or I can track one down for you on Cardmarket and simply add the cost to your final invoice. I always go for near mint condition when I source cards for clients.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Your alter will be sleeved, put in a toploader and packed into sturdy protective packaging before it heads out. I take a lot of care with this step because your piece deserves to arrive looking exactly as it left my hands, wherever in the world you are. Tracking comes standard and shipping is already included in the commission price.

MATERIALS

Each alter is painted straight onto an authentic Magic: The Gathering card using professional Golden Acrylics paints, then sealed with a Royal Talens Amsterdam acrylic varnish. That final coat protects the paint and helps it blend right into the card so the whole thing feels seamless. Because it's all done by hand, you might notice little bits of texture or brushwork here and there. It's proof that real hands made this, and it's part of what makes your alter unique! I sign every piece with my initials along the bottom.

I love sharing my work and a little peek behind the scenes, so your finished alter will probably make an appearance on my social media. Prefer to keep it just between us? No problem! You can let me know in your request form.
